Celebrate 50 Years of National NAIDOC Week!
Get ready to celebrate a landmark National NAIDOC Week from July 6 to 13, 2025! This year marks an incredible 50 years of week-long celebrations, and the Albanese Labor Government is providing up to $3 million to support local communities and organisations across Australia in making it truly special.
This Year’s Inspiring Theme: “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy”
The 2025 theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” is a powerful call to action. It celebrates the remarkable achievements of the past while looking forward to a vibrant future for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As Minister for Indigenous Australians, Senator Malarndirri McCarthy, highlights, “National NAIDOC Week continues to be Australia’s largest celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and this year we celebrate a milestone 50 years of honoring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture and resilience, through a week of activities.”
National NAIDOC Committee Co-Chair, Aunty (Professor) Lynette Riley, eloquently states, “Over the decades, NAIDOC Week has grown into a powerful national celebration that continues to honour and elevate Indigenous voices, culture and resilience 50 years on.” Co-Chair Steven Satour adds, “This NAIDOC Week, we celebrate not just a milestone but a movement that endures, grows, and evolves – driven by the unwavering strength of our communities, the shared vision of our people, and the enduring legacy we pass on to those who will shape our future.”
