About this event

Imagine this: It’s your first week at an Aussie workplace. You want to sound professional in your email, but not too stiff. Your colleague says, “See you this arvo, mate!” and you’re left wondering if “arvo” is a new project name or something you missed in class.

Now picture this: later the same day, you’re sitting with a blank canvas in front of you. Brushes, colours, and ideas all waiting. You start painting, and for a moment, the noise of study and work disappears – it’s just you, your strokes, and your creativity flowing free.

That’s exactly the journey we’ve prepared for you this Thursday, 21 August (1–3 PM, OC201, O’Connell St Campus).

Why you should join:

  • Learn Aussie workplace unspoken rules & authentic expressions
  • Practise real-life email and conversation tips
  • Enjoy a FREE Art Club drawing session (materials provided): The Art Club activities are led by Mary Louise Baldo, KOI Art Club President. Join the club WhatsApp through “REGISTER FOR EVENT” to keep up to date with what’s next or contact Mary directly at 0402 399 348 if you have any questions.
  • Step up for the KOI Mascot Design Competition – winner gets $500 + your artwork featured on the Engage Website and our future Wynyard Green Campus Art Gallery!

And yes – we’ve got you covered with afternoon tea so you can relax, recharge, and enjoy the session.

So whether you’re curious about Aussie culture, craving a creative break, or ready to leave your mark at KOI, this workshop is for you.

Join us this Thursday, 1–3 PM, OC201

No need to bring anything – just bring yourself, your curiosity, and maybe a friend!
