Get ready, Sydney! The city is about to transform into a vibrant hub of creativity and craftsmanship for Sydney Craft Week, running from October 10th to 19th, 2025. This isn’t just an event; it’s a ten-day festival dedicated to celebrating the art of the handmade in all its forms.

Led by the Australian Design Centre, Sydney Craft Week invites everyone – from seasoned artisans to curious newcomers – to explore, engage, and be inspired by the power of making. This year’s theme, ‘material intelligence’, promises to spark thought-provoking exhibitions, hands-on workshops, and insightful talks that delve into our unique human connection with the physical world.

Across countless venues throughout Sydney and beyond, you’ll find:

What to expect

  • Diverse Exhibitions: Showcasing the incredible talent of local and national designer-makers.
  • Engaging Workshops: Learn new skills, from traditional techniques to contemporary craft, and experience the joy of creating something with your own hands.
  • Open Studios: Step inside the creative spaces of Sydney’s makers, see where the magic happens, and perhaps even purchase a unique, handcrafted piece.
  • Talks & Demonstrations: Hear from experts and witness live demonstrations of various craft forms.

Sydney Craft Week is your chance to discover the beauty, skill, and sheer joy that handcrafted objects bring to our lives. Most events are free, with some ticketed workshops offering immersive learning experiences.
