Celebrating Our Future: National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day 2025!
Mark your calendars! National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day is held annually on August 4th, a special day dedicated to celebrating our incredible children.
“Little Footsteps, Big Future”: The 2025 Theme
This year’s theme, “Little Footsteps, Big Future,” beautifully honours the unique journeys our children embark on as they grow. Every step they take is guided by the profound influence of culture, the strength of community, and their deep connection to Country.
A Day for All Australians
National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day is brought to you by SNAICC – National Voice for our Children, the national peak body representing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. It’s an important opportunity for all Australians to show their support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and to learn about the vital impact that culture, family, and community play in their lives.
Our vision is clear: we want our children to thrive, to be strong in their culture, and to feel deeply connected to their kin and community. Every child should be proud to come from the oldest living culture in the world!
Join the Nationwide Celebration!
Every year, hundreds of early years services, education centres, sporting clubs, organisations, and communities across Australia host Children’s Day events to mark this significant day. They come together to celebrate the strength, resilience, and incredible potential of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
We warmly invite you to join us in recognizing the importance of nurturing children’s voices and dreams. Together, we can help support a future where every child walks strong in their identity and is empowered to shape their own path.
Children’s Day 2025 falls on a Monday, August 4th, and we can’t wait to see how you’re celebrating!
